SAGAN — Underwater Vehicle (UUV, TEKNOFEST)
An underwater drone built for TEKNOFEST’s Unmanned Underwater Systems competition — from 23rd place to 7th in the finals.
We are building an underwater drone for TEKNOFEST’s Unmanned Underwater Systems competition, but it could also be used for research, search-and-rescue missions, and more. For the main electronics we use a Raspberry Pi 4B companion computer and a Matek H743-Wing flight controller.
I was the programming lead during the 2023 and 2024 seasons. In 2023, our team ranked 23rd in the competition finals; in 2024, we improved significantly and achieved 7th place. Along the way I gained extensive knowledge about communication systems, MAVLink protocols, flight controllers, companion computers, QGroundControl (QGC), and hardware selection for underwater systems.
This year, I am excited to continue as part of the team, aiming to further enhance my technical skills and contribute to achieving even greater success.
